TRANSPORT 

Car

Tadcaster is conveniently located just off the A64 road between Leeds and York, just off the A1(M) in North Yorkshire.

Flying - Leeds Bradford Airport

Tadcaster is situated about 20 miles, or a 45 minute drive away from Leeds Bradford Airport.

Connecting buses are available from either Harrogate or Leeds. 

Rail Links

Although Tadcaster does not have a rail station, rail links are available nearby at Leeds or York. Ulleskelf and Church Fenton are the nearest stations.

Parking

Parking is currently free throughout the town, ranging from 30 minute on-street parking to all day parking in the Central and Britannia car parks. The location of car parks can be found on our Town map. Please note local parking restrictions when leaving your vehicle. 

BUSES 

Bus Passes: Contact North Yorkshire County Council directly or visit the library on Station Road for further information.

Bus Services: There are regular bus services to Leeds, York and Harrogate, from Tadcaster Bus Station which is located by the River Wharfe, near the bridge and Britannia Car Park. 

Timetable Information: Individual Bus Companies, shown below, provide their own timetables. North Yorkshire County Council has stopped producing a local bus guide, but timetable information is available on the North Yorks County Council website. Bus Services in West Yorkshire are covered on the Metro web pages, or you can phone 0113 245 7676 about Metroline buses and trains.

Eastern DalesBus 825 runs direct from Selby, Tadcaster, Wetherby and Harrogate to Ripley Castle (show your bus ticket for half price entry), the fantastic wind-carved crags of Brimham Rocks – a paradise for children (free entry; small visitor centre and refreshments available), Fountains Abbey & Studley Royal World Heritage Site (National Trust), Kirkby Malzeard, Hackfall and Masham.

You can catch Eastern DalesBus 825 to Brimham Rocks, and walk to Fountains Abbey on the "In the Footsteps of Monks" walking route (7.5 miles).

DalesBus 825 is operated by Arriva Yorkshire as part of the DalesBus network, with financial support from the National Trust; North Yorkshire County Council Locality Fund and Ripley Castle.
