Tadcaster Christmas Illuminations

Over the last few years the Council has worked with other bodies, including local businesses, to develop the Christmas lighting for Tadcaster. It is an important time for the town with the Christmas Festival and the additional visitors the season brings and it is important that we look our festive best. In 2017 the Council invested a substantial amount to enhance and improve the Christmas lighting around the Town.

Illuminations are attached to street lamps from Wighill Lane through to the Heineken Brewery. There are three large illuminated Christmas Trees at Sainsburys, Wetherby Road and the town Centre. Small Christmas Trees are attached to the walls above a number of businesses and shops around the town.

In future we hope to add to the Christmas Illuminations and will explore ways of partnership funding to ensure the lights are maintained to a high quality, reflect positively on the town and are on a sustainable financial basis. Many businesses already support the initiative with donations towards the illuminations and for the small trees.

If you or your business would like to make a donation please contact the Ark for further details.

The Council would like to thank the following businesses who have already contributed. We have also received a very generous donation from Tadcaster Methodist Church and donations from individual Councillors and residents.

We need your help – to ensure that future improvements can be made here are some ways you could help: - if you own a business or premises you could have a collection tin, supplied by the Council?
